Testing Period

 

The CrossFit Games Open is all but a distant memory.   We've taken a few weeks to recover with some volume building, partner workouts, general aerobic work, and some structural balance pieces.  

Over the next two weeks, we will go through a testing period.  Based on the results we will set some priorities for the upcoming training period to start following Golden Week.

Make sure you are logging your results each day using WodUP!  This will help make sure we get a more accurate assessment of the strengths and weaknesses…

Tips for 17.5

 

We are finally here. The last week of the 2017 CrossFit Games. As expected, 17.5 is Thrusters and Double-unders.


First, Congratulations to everyone that has participated in the Open and made it this far. You dedicated a lot of time and have put in a lot of hard work over the last 5 weeks.


17.5 is a couplet. 10 rounds for time of 9 Thrusters and 35 Double-unders. There is a 40min time cap.  Check the CrossFit Games Website for the full workout details.

If you completed this workout last year, look back at your score and think about your game plan for this year.  If you are new to this workout, thing about a goal that you want to hit and determine a working / rest pace to help get you there.

The 2017 CrossFit Games Open in Japan


CrossFit continues to grow in Japan and this year is the biggest year yet for participation in the CrossFit Games Open.

In 2011, there was only one team and a handful of individual athletes participating in the CrossFit Open from Japan.  This year we're seeing record growth. 

Here is a quick look at the 2017 numbers for the Open in Japan.

Total Participants

First, we'll look at the total participants. The total number of athletes this year is 661. This is up over 60% from 2016 which is huge considering we only saw a 10% increase from 2015.

Welcome to the CrossFit Games Open 2017!

We are kicking off with a beautiful workout that includes increasing reps on the dumbbell snatches and burpee box jump over.
